What is evolutionary enlightenment:
Yesterday I started a new a brand new 5 week course called living Enlightenment in Edinburgh.
There are 10 people in the class and most of them are new to Evolutionary enlightenment.
So form my point of view as being a teacher of this course and a student of Andrews for around 7 years, it is interesting to see what peoples initial response is.
I know from personal experience the absolute power of this teaching in its effect to deliver the necessary ingredients for any individual to start to see. and manifest their enlightenment potential, if only they are willing!
So my hope for the course is to facilitate and give momentum to this process.
The atmosphere of the class changed as the class developed and by the end their was a definite change from the beginning which is encouraging I hope it continued to deepen over the five weeks.
I know for people some people it can be a bit daunting to come into a class with new people and be hit with all these new ideas about what it means to be human, and it can challange our fixed positions about life.
The first class was looking at what is Evolutionary enlightenment and how it is different from other enlightenment teachings. And how this teachings emphasis is on enlightened action, but also reality as a whole includes both the unmanifest and manifest domains.
Next we explored how in pre-modern cultures there was a believe that heaven exists somewhere in the future after we leave this earth. And although most of us don't walk around with this believe in our conscious mind, most of us are living as though this were true because most of us are waiting for something to happen in the future and when that happens then our life will be better than it is now. I think we do this in allot of really subtle ways, but the way I like to challenge myself on this one is to think to my-self,this moment right now is the only moment there could ever be to create heaven, and then feel into the moment with out any projections and face what is there.
Then we discussed how our own experience of consciousness is the most recent advancement of the evolutionary process and through recognising this we can start to cognize what it would mean to participate in the creation of a new kind of consciousness. And from the perspective of consciousness we are only just beginning to discover we have been in the evolutionary process for billions of years.
The next class we will be looking at the Kosmocentic perspective.
